William Polan, IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) Coordinator
Mr Polan graduated from Rhodes College, Memphis, Tennessee and was an exchange student at the Universidad de Chile in Santiago, Chile. Following graduation from Rhodes, Mr Polan joined the US Peace Corps and spent two years living in a rural community in Azerbaijan where he conducted teacher training, implemented new approaches to education, and taught English to grades 4-6. After Peace Corps, Mr Polan completed his Masters of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas and taught English Language and Literature at an international school in Baku. Mr Polan joined ESCA-BIS in the summer of 2015 and has held various teaching and administrative roles within the school. Mr Polan is a trained PYP and MYP educator, passionate about IB’s internationally driven curriculum framework.
