MEGHAN RAE ROEDER, Primary 6 Homeroom Teacher
Ms Meghan has a Master of Science in Education, from Syracuse, New York and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Ms Meghan is an IB (PYP) trained teacher and has teacher certification from both New York and Massachusetts State Departments of Education. Before joining BIS she gained international teaching experience in China at Kang Chiao International School, as well as teaching English in South Korea. She is a passionate educator who is eager to share her love of learning with all community members.
NAZIRA ALMASBEKOVA, Primary 6 Co-Teacher
Ms.Nazira has a Masters degree from University of International Business and Economics, Beijing, and a Diploma from Beijing Language and Culture University. She has worked as a teacher and interpreter in China and joined BIS in summer 2017, combining roles as Mandarin Teacher and Co-Teacher in the Primary 6 Class.
NATHAN ROEDER, Primary 5 Homeroom Teacher
Mr Nathan graduated with a Master of Science in Education from St. Thomas University, Florida, USA and a Bachelor’s degree in History from New York, USA. Mr Nathan has a Florida Department of Education Certification. Before joining BIS he was teaching in Shanghai, China at Kang Chiao International School. He also taught English in South Korea before moving to China.
Ms Tansuluu graduated from the Faculty of Foreign Languages of Osh State University in 2004 then worked as an English language teacher before she joined BIS in 2011 when the school first opened. Although she left in 2013 to move to Beijing, where she taught English to children, we were delighted when she returned to Bishkek in 2015 and rejoined BIS as Teacher Assistant in High School. Ms Tansuluu has been the Co-Teacher for Primary 5 since 2016.
GRACE LIM, Primary 4G Homeroom Teacher
Ms Lim has a BA in Liberal Arts, an AAS Degree in Communication Arts and a Masters in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of San Francisco. She also has Multiple Subject CLAD Teaching Certification in California. Her experience is very varied in the California public schools system, with an emphasis on teaching English and creative arts, as well as being a Grade teacher.
NAZGUL JUMAGULOVA, Primary 4G Co-Teacher
Ms Nazgul has a Bachelor's degree in English Language &Literature. She is passionate about helping and empowering to reach their potential. Ms Nazgul joined BIS in summer 2017.
ALEXANDER MCQUILLAN, Primary 4A Homeroom Teacher
Mr Alex graduated from the University of Wisconsin (B.A in Languages and Cultures of Asia) and has over three years of experience teaching English, Math and Science, to a variety of multi-cultural students, ranging from Second Grade to upper High School including a year in a school in Palestine. Mr Alex firmly believes in the power of education and the ability it has to create a more dynamic world, filled with more inquisitive, compassionate learners.
ELENA KHARCHENKO, Co-Teacher & ECA Coordinator
Ms Elena graduated from Kyrgyz Russian Slavic University and joined BIS in May 2016 as a Teaching Assistant. In 2016/17 Ms Elena was Assistant Librarian and is now the main Librarian for the school. In February 2018 she moved to the position of a Primary 4A Co-Teacher.
MAGDALENA MATYSOW, Primary 3 Homeroom Teacher
Ms Magda is a passionate, enthusiastic and experienced PYP educator with a love for learning. Ms Magdalena graduated from the Linguistic Academy of Warsaw, where she gained her Bachelor degree in English Philology specializing in teaching and translation. She completed her Master degree in Cultural Studies – with an emphasis in American Studies – at the University of Warsaw. During her MA studies, she was granted an Erasmus/LLP scholarship and spent five months studying in Venice at the Ca’Foscari University, as well as at Venice International University. After completing her studies Ms. Magdalena taught for four years at The Canadian School of Warsaw as a PYP homeroom teacher.
Ms Aijamal graduated from Bishkek Humanities University with a B.A. degree in English and German languages then worked as an English language teacher in different language schools in Bishkek and as an interpreter of Russian and English languages. Ms Aijamal joined BIS in May 2016, initially as Co-Teacher in Primary 4 before moving to Primary 3 in summer 2016.
JULIANA GONZALEZ, Primary 2 Homeroom Teacher
Ms Juliana joined BIS in summer 2015 after moving from Kenya with her family. While teaching in an international school in Nairobi, Ms Juliana successfully completed her Post-Graduate Certificate and Diploma of Education from the University of Nottingham. From 2005 to 2014 she worked with Médecins Sans Frontières. Following a year as Preschool Coordinator in 2016/17, Ms Juliana is moving to Primary 2 this year.
ZARINA TOROEVA, Primary 2 Сo-Teacher
Ms Zarina has a degree as an English Teacher from Osh State University and before joining BIS in summer 2014 she taught English in local school and for private students and also worked with international youth in Sweden as a volunteer. Ms Zarina started as Co-Teacher in Primary 2 in summer 2016 and is delighted to continue in this role.
KRISHA GANDHI, Primary 1 Homeroom Teacher
Ms Krisha is a qualified Primary Teacher (PGCE) with teaching experience in the UK. She graduated from University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) where she studied Mandarin and History. Before qualifying as a Primary Teacher, Ms Krisha was a teaching assistant in China and has worked in a number of summer schools. She is a dedicated teacher who is passionate about education. She has a keen interest in languages, including Mandarin and Spanish. Ms Krisha joined BIS in summer 2017.
CHYNYGUL BAKYT KYZY, Primary 1 Co=Teacher
Ms Chynygul graduated from the Kyrgyz-Chinese faculty of Bishkek Humanities University (BHU) in Bishkek in 2012. Before joining BIS in April 2016 she was working in the London School of Languages and Cultures, and at the Kyrgyz National University teaching Russian, Kyrgyz and English language.
REIHAN GULBAHAR, Primary 1 Co-Teacher
Ms Reyhan has a Bachelor of Arts in English from Kyrgyz National University. She first worked at the English language learning Center "Live and Learn" before joining BIS in May 2012. After taking maternity leave, Ms Reyhan joined BIS team in January 2017. Ms Reyhan finds working with children a great joy and a pleasure for her.
