Meghan Rae Roeder, Primary 6 Form Teacher, Teacher Mentor
Ms Meghan has a Master of Science in Education, from Syracuse, New York and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Ms Meghan is an IB (PYP) trained teacher and has teacher certification from both New York and Massachusetts State Departments of Education. Before joining BIS she gained international teaching experience in China at Kang Chiao International School, as well as teaching English in South Korea. She is a passionate educator who is eager to share her love of learning with all community members.
Elina Ignatova, Primary 6 Co-Teacher
Ms Elina graduated from the Faculty of Linguistics and Translation of Chelyabinsk State University, Russia, in 2015. She took an opportunity to live and work in the United States during her summer vacation from university. There she had a great experience of practicing English language and learning about American culture. After graduation, she moved to Kyrgyzstan and started working as a private tutor with international students of different ages. She was happy to join BIS in August 2018.
Nathan Roeder, Primary 5N Form Teacher, ISA Coordinator
Mr Nathan graduated with a Master of Science in Education from St. Thomas University, Florida, USA and has a Bachelor’s degree in History from New York, USA. Mr Nathan has Florida Department of Education Certification. Before joining BIS, he taught in Shanghai, China at Kang Chiao International School. He also taught English in South Korea before moving to China.
Azamat Sarinjiev, Primary 5N Co-Teacher
Mr Azamat graduated from the High School of Foreign Languages of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University in 2011. Azamat did various teaching and interpreting jobs before joining BIS in October 2018.
Rona Butler, Primary 5R Form Teacher
Ms Rona graduated from the University of California with a degree in Political Science, then later trained as a teacher. She has worked in South Korea as both an English language teacher and for 10 years as a teacher trainer for the Seoul Metropolitan Education Training Institute. During that time she completed her Post Graduate Diploma at the University of Birmingham. After leaving South Korea, Ms Rona taught in a research center for autism at Youngstown State University, Ohio. Ms. Rona joined us in summer 2018 from another international school in Kyrgyzstan.
Aichurok Temirbaeva, Primary 5R Co-Teacher
Ms Aichurok graduated from the International Ala Too University (Translation and Interpreting Studies) in Bishkek, and gained her Master’s degree in International Relations from the Ege University in Izmir, Turkey. She has a Teaching Certificate from her first university. She also studied as an Exchange/Erasmus student in the Czech Republic and Cyprus. Ms Aichurok has been teaching since 2013 and has worked as an English Instructor/Translator in Bishkek and different cities of Turkey.
Jyldyz Tuibaeva, Primary 5 Language Support Co-Teacher & French Teacher
Ms Jyldyz has a degree in Economics and Management from University Pierre Mendes, Grenoble, France and Bachelor of law from the Kyrgyz Russian Slavic University. She worked in France and England for eight years, including tutoring school students in French and Russian.
Alexander McQuillan, Primary 4 Form Teacher
Mr Alex graduated from the University of Wisconsin (B.A in Languages and Cultures of Asia) and has over five years of experience teaching English, Math and Science to a variety of multi-cultural students, ranging from Second Grade to upper High School in Denver, Colorado, Nablus, Palestine and Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic. Mr Alex firmly believes in the power of education and the ability it has to create a more dynamic world, filled with more inquisitive, compassionate learners. Mr Alex is also the leader of the BIS Cross Country Team and the popular Ski Club.
Elena Kharchenko, Primary 4 Co-Teacher & ECA Coordinator
Ms Elena graduated from the Kyrgyz Russian Slavic University and joined BIS in May 2016. She has worked both as a Librarian and as a Co-Teacher and Language Teacher, and we are delighted that she will continue as Primary 4 Co-Teacher as well as being overall ECA Coordinator for the school.
Magdalena Matysow, Primary 3 Form Teacher
Ms. Magdalena, Primary 3 Homeroom Teacher and educational resources coordinator, is in her third year at BIS. Ms Magdalena graduated from the Linguistic Academy of Warsaw, where she gained her Bachelor degree in English Philology, specializing in teaching and translation. She completed her Master degree in Cultural Studies – with an emphasis on American Studies at the University of Warsaw. During her MA studies, she was granted an Erasmus/LLP scholarship and spent five months studying in Venice at the Ca’Foscari University, as well as at Venice International University. Ms Magdalena brings over 6 years of PYP teaching experience.
Elvira Tonueva, Primary 3 Co-Teacher
Ms Elvira studied Linguistics and New Computer Technologies at Bishkek Humanities University. Before joining BIS in summer 2017 she studied at Kingsborough Community College in New York.
Myra Degnan, Primary 2 Form Teacher
Ms Myra has been teaching for 16 years in primary education, special education and ESOL (English for Speakers of other Languages). Ms Myra has a Master of Science in Education with a focus on Special Education for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Learners from George Washington University in Washington, DC, and a Master of Science in Early Childhood Education from the Philippines. Ms. Myra has teacher certification from Maryland State Department of Education. Before joining BIS, she was teaching First Grade Reading and Language Arts (RELA) to English Language Learners (ELLs) in the Maryland public schools’ system.
Shannon Coppock, Primary 2 Form Teacher
Ms Shannon is a qualified and experienced teacher. She received her qualifications in Canada and has since taught Primary School children in Canada, Yemen and the United Kingdom. In addition to her teaching qualifications, Ms Shannon is a registered Occupational Therapist, which has given her further experience of working with children and supporting their development.
Kyzjibek Tekenova, Primary 2 Co-Teacher
Ms Kyzjibek graduated from the Kyrgyz Russian Slavic University and has a Diploma in Theory and Practice of Translation. She taught English before joining BIS in summer 2017 as a Co-Teacher. In August 2018, Ms Kyzjibek moved to the position of Primary 2 Co-Teacher.
Caitlyn Clark, Primary 1 Form Teacher
Ms Caitlyn graduated from Western Michigan University with a Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education concentrating on English, Math and Social Sciences. During this program she earned one of five Intern Teacher of the year awards from the state of Michigan. She also holds a Degree from Western Michigan University in Anthropology and Comparative Religion. Ms Caitlyn has a Professional Level Teaching License from the state of Michigan and she is part way through a Master Degree in Early Childhood Development. Ms Caitlyn has taught for 8 years in the United States, China, and Kyrgyzstan.
Nurai Begalieva, Primary 1 Co-Teacher
Ms Nurai has a Bachelor's degree in Pedagogy and has diverse experience working with children within the Kyrgyz Republic and overseas. She believes that early development is important and has significant influence to children’s future life. Ms Nurai joined BIS in summer 2018.
Ryskan Sultanova, Primary 1 Co-Teacher
Ms Ryskan has a degree in Engineering from Kyrgyz State University of Construction, Transportation and Architecture (KGUSTA). Ms Ryskan is experienced in working with children and teaching. She enjoys working with children.
